Food Pantry
A major challenge facing the Hell’s Kitchen community is the scarcity of affordable, fresh produce. In Hell’s Kitchen, 7-14% of people reported that they consumed NO fruit or vegetables the previous day. According to NYC Department of Health, up to 6% of the residents in our neighborhood have diabetes and up to 18% are obese.

HKFP is offering a solution. We donated our produce to the food pantry in order to get more fresh vegetables into Hell's Kitchen, especially to our neighbors in the most need. Making fresh produce is the foundation of our project and continues to be a driving force in our mission.
All produce grown on the farm goes directly to the Rauschenbush Metro Ministries Food Pantry, adding fresh greens and vegetables to its weekly food distribution. During the 2018 season, over 350 lbs of produce was distributed at the Food Pantry.
